Hornady black 300 blackout subsonic1/17/2024 One has a 10" barrel and the other a 16" barrel. Originally Posted By: BrianIDI've worked up some subsonic loads for my two 300 blackouts. I would arguably feel more confident in killing coyotes with only my shotgun on a stand than having only my blackout. It is hard to give up the flatter trajectory and proven performance of my 223's, 6mm Creedmoor or 22-250. I was really wanting to shoot my 300 blackout suppressed at coyotes but now that I have the suppressor and load worked up I haven't taken a 300 blackout on a stand with me yet. My loads may or may not work well in your gun. The best thing to do is test your gun and suppressor to see what load is best for you. Hodgon's website does have some free load data you may want to check out. I'm not at home right now but would be happy to share CFE blackout powder data with you if you send me a PM. Adding barrel length or adding a suppressor turned a subsonic load into a supersonic load easier than I thought it would. I've worked up some subsonic loads for my two 300 blackouts. I just want to load to as close to a factory round as I can. The simple answer would be buy more factory rounds, but the cost of factory has went way up and availability is way down. Again, I don't have any and these were guys loading for short barreled pistol ARs. I've heard good and bad about AA1680, but I don't have any and there's nothing available near me in driving distance. I understand the process is reversed and you need to work down to sub-sonic speeds, but I'm at a loss from there as to what powders understanding case volume is a factor. I've never loaded for a sub-sonic round before. I'm shooting a Ruger American Ranch bolt rifle with a 16' barrel 1:7 twist.įactory loads shoot good and I'm happy with the performance of the bullet so I really am not interested in other bullet options. I'm wondering if anyone has some data for loading subsonic rounds for a 300 Blackout using a Hornady 190gr Sub-X bullet (part# 30730)?
